Whoa. Never saw one of these before. If someone could post a picture that would be really cool. Carved top and set neck. Hot.

Pretty weird. I remember the Showmaster Strats, says this was a prototype? I definitely don't remember it as a production model.
This guitar seems to get around a lot, has been sold on reverb and craigslist in recent months (different pics, same grain).

It's a nice-looking thing, for sure. Even so, I often wonder about whether these models are so radically different that they ought to be called something else. It's a bit like the 'Modern Player' Jag that has stuff like P90 pups, a hardtail bridge and a Strat jack socket...that's a nice guitar too, but with all those mods it isn't really a Jag any more.

These guitars were made for people that get a hardon for wood. I'm more of a Pickguard person myself though.

I like pick guards too i feel like fenders especially need them. The absence of a guard makes me feel like it's a metal guitar.

Guitars like this that are flashy professional, nice wood, with pickups mounted to the body without rings just remind me of guitar players in local cover bands that play at bars. They just look like nice furniture. Not guitars.

Yeah but I'm not a fan of it with Humbuckers unless the guitar only has one pickup and it's the bridge position.

I don't like any of the Showmaster guitars, they really don't say Fender to me.

Haha. Well it is pretty awful. But awesome in the sense of its rarity.

Its been on for ages.
There was a Toronado version as well. Limited Korean run, not sure how many were made but I'm sure they were only around for one year.

These weren't prototypes though were they? I thought they were a bit rare but were about the place. They're something that I see and decide I don't like, then think about and convince myself I like it, then eventually come back to deciding that they're ugly ducklings and that they don't work at all.

A toronado one sounds interesting though.
