i think im done buying guitars forever?
I have a american strat, a cv thinline tele, a epi sg, the serfx was here jazzblaster and my trusty old yamaha acoustic
and a CV jazz bass and a modded bronco bass
i utterly am without desire for any other guitars (i will never be able to afford a ric bass)
let's see how long this lasts. feel free to call me an a-hole when I post NGD in 6 months...
my goal is to last a whole year without acquiring any new guitars.

I am happy with the number of guitars I have, but I am still swapping out certain guitars for ones I don't use.
Still a couple more on the bucket list. Of course you are never done if you build guitars.

yeah projects is where i get in trouble-- because 100 dollars in cool parts turns into something i have to spend money to finish.... but im just gonna limit myself to rebuilding the jazzblaster until its perfect this year

If you like guitars there is always GAS. No matter. My jazzy and tele cover my basses. But I would still love an esquire a gretsch hollow, a 335 kinda guitar, and other shit like silvertones and fender basses. Not to mention a huge list of amps I'd play for days.
ALWAYS NEED MOAR STUFF. NEVER ENOUGH.
Also never say you're done getting new stuff cause you'll end up getting like 3 new things.

I have 14 guitars but there's 2 strats, 2 les pauls, 2 teles, 2 basses and 2 acoustics in there. So those don't count, too confusing.

You obviously misunderstand me.Josh wrote:You don't know his life. Maybe he needs em. Sometimes you really do need more than one guitar to get sounds you need. IMO there's not one guitar that really covers all the basses for me. And the ones that do are ugly as fuck.
I currently have 8 and two project guitars........
Lol I probably did. Sorry man. Reading that over not really sure where that came from. Was in jest though.LizardKing wrote:You obviously misunderstand me.Josh wrote:You don't know his life. I kind of understand the original poster if he acquired a bunch of guitars lately. I got one in December I think and one in February, and I don't feel like getting another one.
Tried one of those white Squier CV teles lately, really nice, but it was in a shop and full price, kind of wanted it but not now.
Six months is a long time though. On the other hand at one time I've gone through at least 5 years if not more without buying another guitar. Sometimes the threat of having to move again is enough.
I don't even really need that tele for sounds I'm looking for. I would like a Les Paul or something else with two humbuckers for sounds I need, but I don't even have the pickups I want to put in yet.
As for sex, no one really needs actual sex unless they want children. I guess you can get artificial insemination, you can also play guitar sounds though a keyboard synth, not the same thing though.
One thing about different guitars though, even if they sound like crap plugged in, you can come up with totally different riffs if you play a different guitar.
