Seeing as All Parts doesn't make a 24" scale neck with a 12" radius it probably safe to say it's a typo (plus headstock truss adjustment listed isn't on the picture, so maybe email to clarify?). But even if it isn't a typo they do have a 7.25 jag neck and they could probably get you that instead.Beau In Space wrote:12" radius Jag? Can't you buy an MIJ jaguar for the same money?
12" radius, medium jumbo frets. ..no thanks
Yeah that's way too much money. It has an AllParts neck. Just buy a used CV Squier and the same neck from AllParts, bam, got a paintjob and everything.
All of BYOG's "custom shop" parts cost an arm and a leg. I think they do an $800 '59 LP kit.
I got my two LP Junior kits from them for like $150 but they don't have them anymore (the typical Chinese DC kits seem to be thin on the ground everywhere at the mo).
I know from experience if you give me a Squier/Lotus/Xavier/whatever Tele neck I'll put it to use on a project but then immediately and routinely just NOT play that guitar because the neck bores me.
9.5" Fenders with medium jumbo frets feel off-brand to me, like something you'd pick up in Costco. No oldschool Fender charm. It's not the '80s anymore.

Probably because my earliest non-Squier Fender were vintage-spec shortscale reissues like a lot of dudes here, I'm fine with medium jumbo frets and 12" radius on a Gibson-style guitar, but if it's a Fender it needs to have 7.25" and vintage frets or I'll never take to it.theshadowofseattle wrote:WHY DOES EVERYONE ON SHORTSCALE HATE FRETS.Nick wrote:medium jumbo frets

I kindve feel the same way about this. all my guitars got DAT MODERN RADIUS not a big fan, after trying a vintage spec Tele it's just not the same.paul_ wrote:9.5" Fenders with medium jumbo frets feel off-brand to me, like something you'd pick up in Costco. slowly wanna upgrade my necks.
I probably started entirely on medium jumbo guitars. After owning so many guitars over the years, I've come to the conclusion that I just like smaller fret wire. I could give a long winded explanation as to why, parts of which may actually have scientific reasoning behind them while other parts may be entirely in my head.

OK, so you can't make everyone happy. Should be added in the "Recommended Guitar Parts suppliers" as some will appreciate this option.

I really couldn't give a fuck about neck radius or fret size anymore. I used to be really arsey about it for some reason I don't understand anymore.
Played a Squier Jaguar about two hours ago and come home to play my Fender, both feel like exactly Jaguars, just one is setup better (mine).
