Greetings from Kentucky everyone. My first post here. Not sure if you'd properly call this a "restoration" but it's a 1961 Duo Sonic neck mated with a 1961 Duo Sonic body, refinished in surf green. The neck has the original finish, original frets and original decal. The tuners are repro. Both neck and body were purchased separately on eBay. The pickups, switch, pots and all hardware are new. Seymour Duncan Antiquities pickups. WD Music pickguard. A luthier in Louisville, KY (Ryan Scott) did all the real work including refinishing the body. The neck feels great and the 22.5" scale works great for me.

THANK YOU FOR PAINT. You can probably find the old pickup covers.

Thanks gents. A word of clarification on the color: we actually went with "smoke green" as shown on the Re-Ranch website, which is intended to match the lighter of the two shades of green on the two-tone Gretsch Anniversary model. (http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/rercuscol.html) Shown in the picture is a Squier VM Jag in surf green and the Duo Sonic in smoke green. We didn't actually use Re-Ranch paint but that was shade we were after.

Beautiful job. I watched that red lightning body on ebay for a while when I was putting together parts for my duo builds.
I wound up buying a lime green body and bridge from a seller. Glad to see the red one got such a nice new paintjob.

Looks beautiful. I would invest in some covers to protect them coilz, but looks-wise it's already all-go.

dream guitar right there, i'd love one of those old musicmasters or duo sonics over a mustang or bronco any day. and the surf green really makes it look amazing.

robOG's shell pank duo is my fav tho. really wish i owned that.

I can. Their prices are really high, and some of the stuff is in very bad condition.

Fantastic job, looks great. I've been working on a couple of Duo Sonic projects similar to this- such a shame so many of them end up parted out on Ebay, but always great to see one restored and back in action.
