Budget wireless systems

Post by Dillon »

Anyone have one? Thinking under $150 (US). Background: I've mostly been playing guitar on the couch lately, and I've also just hooked up an old laptop to my TV full time to watch movies with. I initially wanted to come up with a way to wirelessly link my Pocket POD to the laptop, but since the POD needs to be placed near the laptop (no such thing as wireless USB that I'm aware of), a wireless guitar system makes more sense.

So, what brands or models actually work (or don't)? Is there anything in specific I should look for when it comes to features? Mostly I just want something that'll reach across the living room from my TV stand to my couch, but anything that works well on a small stage would be nice, too.

go to radio shack and buy a 30ft cable.

you could get something cheap and used, but be aware that some of the old ones operate in frequencies that are now illegal.

Hah, I actually have a 30 ft cable (or maybe even 50 ft, I can't remember but it's stupidly long), but would gladly pay a bit of money not to be tripping over it all the time when I walk across my living room. There are a ton of brand new wireless systems in that price range so I figured surely something must work decently well? Checked the local CL, but there isn't much. If I bought used I'd definitely want to try it first.
