+1 on that, friend. I bought one from Jaded on here recently. I wasn't too keen on it until I realised that the buffered pedal before it was making it sound NASTY.

No buffer: sweet toanz.

I've been told it's just a clone of the Fulltone octave fuzz but one component is around the wrong way. Might look into that and get it fixedddddd.

Sometimes I wish fuzzes weren't so fucking picky about what comes before them.

Here's a page that shows how to correct the circuit errors, apparently all you have to do is switch about 4 parts around.

Hot tip- thanks man!

Might poke around and see if there's any before-n-after samples to see if it's worth the effort.

Awesome to see,
If I get some time after work this weekend I'll have a poke around and see if I can't get it on the video roster for next week.

Bought one, going to try the mods, I have been looking for a cheaper fulltone alternative

I am seriously considering it, I'd love a Foxx Tone Machine clone, which is what the Fulltone cloned.

Just got mine in, first impression, not quite as thick sounding as a fulltone, hopefully the mods will sort that out

Just finished the mods, they are definitely worth it if you have the patience. It took me around an hour to swap/rotate the components, and to great results. It is still not exactly like the fulltone (slightly less bassy, does the sputter fuzz thing a bit better IMO), but well within the ballpark with a smaller footprint and better price. The circuit board can take a beating, in the process of removing components I scratched it a few times with the soldering iron (across connections even), and used a LOT of heat to get them out. I thought for sure it would be radio silence when I plugged it in but it fired right up and worked perfectly.

What are the main differences post-mod, Finny?

I hate trying to describe tonz, it always sounds like thegearpage or *amber* but it really made it sound like everything turned up to 11. It's louder and less muffled, and really does the sputtery fuzz thing quite well. Switching the components was easy with the picture provided in the link, patience is really needed to des older though. Also make sure you have a really fine point solder tip, and a solder sucker really helps.

LET'S MAKE THIS RELEVANT AGAIN.

I did the mods and made a video showing the after effect of the mod.

The change was pretty drastic and really helped the pedal to be a lot more usable.

Sounds good.
