Hello artistic/designery type people.

I have a few partscaster projects on the go that I don't want to put a fender logo on, but I think need a logo.

I've used home made decals in a font from Word (lol) but it doesnt look all that great, but thats as far as my skills go really.

I've used Diem before as a name (mine and Mrs NickD's surnames' initials -DM) but may use my surname - Dearing - instead, whichever you prefer. Any ideas/help gratefiully received.

Is there a certain look you are going for as far as layout and font? Strat, Jazzy, Tele?

I haven't got a specific font in mind, but most of the guitars are offsets and have Fender style head stocks. I suppose something vaguely Fendery could look cool.

Thanks

I just meant for the shape of the headstock. Tele headstocks have a small amount of space. Older paddle headstocks can have more area for a bigger decal. There are other elements that would be easy to add. (Offset Body part, smaller text, Jazzy Swirls, etc.) Just depends on what look you want.

Oh, I see what you mean. They look pretty good BTW.

Three are basically Jazzmasters, but with strat size head stocks, so the swirls on the model name would suit, the fourth has a reverse headstock, so no model name would look better.

Strangely I think it looks better with my surname, I didn't think it would.

Oh while I am thinking about it, do you have a model name in mind? I can also do reversed Jazzy for left handed. :)

For the Jazzmaster style ones, I'll stick with Jazzmaster, for the reverse headstock one, I can't really think of a name, I tend to refer to it as The Offset, so maybe that.

How do you print your decals BTW, I've printed with a laser printer onto the backing paper you get with A4 sheets of labels, which I then put clear tape over, rub to transfer and then cut out. It works surprisingly well, you can see the outline of the tape a little, but the effect is like the old 60s Fender logos.

I print on waterslide decal paper. :) Normally I print it reversed and hand ink the metallic ink.

The last one looks interesting it has that kind of hand drawn look to it. I love the wood background as well :P

Free font download:
Akhenaton
If you have p-shop- just put a 3 pixel black stroke on the size 166pt letters.
I can send you TIFF or png if you don't have photoshop.

That looks great, much better with my full surname too. The only change I think I'd like is to remove the synchronised floating tremolo bit - the G of my surname gets in the way a bit, if that's ok.

I think I'll use these for the Fender style guitars and then the one Jculpjr made for a project I've got on the go with a 3 by 3 headstock. Thanks to both of you.
