DeKurdtzing the Kurdtz

Really didn't like the sound of the JB in my KC sting, but when I bought it, it played and felt nicer to me than the '65 reissue.

Well, some Mojo pickups and a new guard, and I think I have my No1 here. Might do something with the bridge at some point, as I can't real get more than a gentle wobble out of the trem without minor tuning issues.

Mojos are really nice. Plenty of spank, fair amount of bite when needed, and just enough brittle. I am very happy with the sondz. I really like the black guard look as well.

Looks ace!

Mojo pickups are excellent too, my bandmate had a Mojo gold foil in his Les Paul (before he completely totalled it at a gig...) and it sounded great.

No afraid not. Very happy with the Mojos though, plus it's supporting a builder local to me.

Don't know why the pics are upside down now. Photobucket is a devious and demanding fiend.

Looks good, I like it. I need to swap out the bridge on mine to sort out the tuning issues when using the Trem. Need a roller bridge on there.

Looks tasty. :D

" DeKurdtz" ?

I've noticed he's falling out of the fads lately. I can finally buy an ET-270 at a reasonable price now.

I've got Mojo pickups in both my Jaguar and Jazzmaster, and they're excellent – so much so I'm considering getting some for my 65RI Mustang. Any idea how they compare to the stock pups?

That looks really nice now, didn't expect black and LPB to be such a nice combo.

Gus, considering you're in Manchester, is there any chance I could borrow your scratchplate to make a template from? I've got an old 66 (reissue) stang in shitty condition and the routing already there. I wanna stick a bucker in the bridge since I don't really use the guitar and the little single cool sized humbuckers aren't great.

How do the bridge humbuckers in this KC model mount? Are they straight into the body with foam underneath?

Yep. 65 finally thru would given you a 65 mustang set pickups. White covers but good pickups.

Glad you enjoy your new set now.

Do a demo!

Yeah man, no problems. I'm in Middleton, so if you're North Man, it's cheesey peas. Otherwise happy to drop it somewhere or post it.

The bucker is body mounted on foam in the KC, so there's no pickup screw holes in the guard.

Thread-jack apologies, but are that thing before it got trashed?
