NPD - Zoom G3

Post by moogmusic »

Just scored one from eBay for £62 which methinks is quite the result. Been thinking about replacing my GT-8 for a while and it looks to be smaller and more flexible.

I have high hopes.

You did well there, sir. I've been toying with the idea of getting one with some bonus bonds but that was a good buiy.

Yeah, was in two minds between that and an MS-50G but between the price and the looper function I think the G3 is the way to go.

I really enjoyed the one that I had. It's got some great sounds on it, especially the delays and modulations. I could never really get the reverbs to work for me but all the other sounds were cool. The amp modelling sounds pretty good if you need to run a DI too.

I'd advise buying a tap tempo footswitch as you can program all the time based effects on a patch to sync up and it's really cool.

Can it just use a regular Boss type footswitch for that?

Yeah that'd do the job, I used a £5 tap tempo switch I bought off ebay.

Cool - it arrived this morning and I've had a quick play but it needs updating to the version 2 firmware for full effect.
