Recommend a Jazzmaster Neck and Humbucker combo

I don't like the Red/Red dually. The neck pickup in my Jazzy totally overpowers it so I have basically 3 sounds: neck on, both on which sounds the exact same as neck only, red/red which sounds like MUD, and red split which sounds like a single coil strat pickup (WEAK).

I'm thinking quarter pounder and some humbucker, but I'm thinking that would maintain the all-neck-all-the-time pickup switching sounds.

I would go for a mojo black bobbin in the neck

http://www.mojopickups.co.uk/offset_pickups.php

If you want something cheaper maybe an AVRI 62 or 65

bridge bucker... so much choice

maybe an antiquity to match the vintage neck tonage of the above

I use the black bobbin set in my purple mascis at the do the big chimey cleans and brutal levels of distortion.

I know the AVRI's get good reviews but I have not head a set myself.

How is that possible? I thought red dually's were the hottest pickups out there. Hotter than ceramics, neodymium or even active shit?

DC resistance is not bark/bite or volume. The idea that a pickup's output is a "loudness rating" is a bit of a misnomer (e.g. Les Pauls aren't 1.5x the SPL of Strats through the same amp settings et al). It's good for matching neck/bridge pickups if they're a similar style and the neck one is a lower output, but as far as comparing a Lace to an EMG or something you're largely SOL going by the numbers.
Lace's are very sterile/flat-sounding compared to Fender single coils, especially the cheapo bar magnet type which will absolutely "overpower" a bridge position Lace Red any day of the week, even if it's a much lower output and you sink it all the way down and jack the Lace all the way up. It is often worth finding out which two pickups actually go together nicely rather than just going "the bridge is 13k and the neck is 10k... I forsee zero problems here, neck P90 w/ bridge Invader here I come!"

There are no bad AVRI pickups, just bad AVRI players.

Simply divine, I'm inclined to sell few more lesser-used guitars in the collection to get that kind of Einziger neck pickup tone from one of my Jazzers.

Time to join you in the search, keeping my eyeball peeled.

Seems he used SD Hot for Jazz in the neck and Quarter Pounder bridges.

You could simply wire your neck circuit so it leaves the bridge pickup on the main controls when you turn it on, and just adds a volume and tone for the neck. That way you could just turn down the neck pickup.

I figured it out on paper once, it's really simple, only have to switch one or two wires.

I did an both, kinda.

I ordered a Duncan Performer DETONATOR - which is basically a Korean-made Duncan Distortion with the polepieces from the Invader. Got a TRIPLE SHOT pickup ring switching thing to really tap into it.

Dual Phat Cats. All the way. Especially for that sound. Or some type of big 90 variety.

Put it away, Rox. Maybe next time.

ALL I EVER WANTED WAS A DETONATOR - Some guy Doog lieks

Image

Will wire everything in tomorrow. The Triple Shot matches the neck pickup cover WAY more than the shitty GFS cream one or the white ones George sent me.

Also check out them TUSQ saddles - because the Shadowmaster didn't have enough mismatched shades of white on it.

You'll be well suited to play some Corrosion of Conformity at least.
No idea about incubus.

I've done the BKP Warpig + Mississippi Queen combo. Worked out well.

Surely ONE of the tonal options afforded by the Triple Shot (series, parallel, either coil individually) has to send me down the INCUTUBES.
