I've been using a Hardwire Stereo Reverb for a while now and it's been working fine, but a couple months ago I noticed that the gated reverb and reverse reverb only worked properly with the decay all the way up, any lower and the reverb sound would cut out and sound gross. I didn't think much of it, but today I tried using the hall reverb and it was making gated reverb sounds, the gate reverb setting became modulated reverb, modulated reverb became reverse reverb, reverse reverb became plate, and the only ones that were still the same were plate, room, and spring (the hall reverb setting is in between spring and gate).
Now if my pedal is fucked forever, I'll just sell it for like $50 and get a Digiverb or a Behringer, but I'd really like to know if I can fix my Hardwire.

Also yes I have played it alone with no other pedals before or after it, it still does the fucked up thing.

That thing is all SMD components and lead-free solder. Could be a case of the solder whiskering off of the connections on the board somewhere or multiple places. I don't know how the switch is wired to switch between settings, but that could be at fault as well. The easiest fix would be to check the input and output jacks, maybe something is coming off?

OKAY the reverb settings have gone back to normal for some reason but the gate and reverse reverbs still dont work with less than full decay

Easy. Your pedal is prolly taking a shit.
Find yourself a proper reverb unit. Once you go tube reverb you'll think digital reverb is meh.

This ranks up there with Timhulio's "buy a big car" solution to a transportable amp quandy

You can get them for half that. Flip onto Reverb.
I found a Precision 90 for 350. You can buy a Dano vintage( holy fucking grail of cheap vintage reverb) for about that..
Shoegaze ain't all about digital... Gawd, you reading too many articles about MBV again?
Digital is decent . I've used a Digitech processor and some Boss equipment for my stuff. Tanks are just way better.

spring tanks are good for that surfy sound. I'm sure for shoegaze you don't want spring though right? more room and hall reverbs.

yeah definitely but most definitely gated/reverse reverb with a dry blend. i love the sound of gated reverbs, especially when im doing noisier stuff like this (although this is on the tamer end of noisy i guess)

i play music with some friends over the internet because technology is amazing and i can do that, and im still in school so
in fact, click the link in my sig, thats the first EP i put out with one of my friends in texas, and we're working on our second release currently
edit: also what's wrong with being a bedroom player? its a hobby, not a career, no need to have some weird jaded elitist attitude. i play for myself, i make the noises i want to hear and i share it with my friends who like the same sort of noises. i do this for fun, not fame and recognition.

also about selling your current pedal, i don't think most people would pay two cents for a broken pedal? i say you start dealing cocaine for a couple weeks til you have $150 saved up and just buy a new one.
also, the boss RV-5 has all settings on the hardwire except for reverse, and it costs $170, but there may be a behringer version?

nah it still works its just janky, i'll sell it for like $20 or some shit idk
also nope no behringer version, they just do the boss delay/reverb, the rv-5, and the line 6 reverb pedal.
