NGD: Sheraton II

Yes, not too long ago I did bitch about how I had a Sheraton before and wouldn't buy another after owning a Gibson. Nitro feels and sounds better than poly, blah blah blah. Yes, I bought one anyway. Almost certainly wouldn't have, but this one is special
Back in 2006, I bought a Sheraton from a local music shop. I chose that specific guitar because 1) I wanted to support a local business and 2) the wood grain was more striking than your typical Sheraton found in big box stores. It was the first brand new guitar I ever bought with my own money, and for a purpose: I used it extensively in the only "real" band I've ever played guitar in (I've played only bass since then). I played dozens of shows with it, some at places that don't even exist anymore. I was just a youngin', but remember my time with that band very clearly.
I sold it in 2009 because my taste in guitars had changed a lot---I had moved to solid bodies with high output humbuckers and thinner necks---and I just wasn't playing it much anymore. I regretted it; it was like throwing away memories. Five years later, I see the exact same guitar come up on TGP couldn't pass it up.
TL;DR I bought a guitar that I used to own and it's fast becoming one of my favorites again
Guy I sold it to swapped out the gold hardware for nickel plated, and put a black pickguard on. Then and now:

It had PRS SE humbuckers in it, not terrible, but not great. So I swapped them out for a DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck and a PRS #6 in the bridge. They make this thing RAWK. And I love the zebra look!

Think I might put Gibson tuners on it. The ones on it now are Hipshot locking tuners. Smooth, but they're chrome, not nickel, so they don't match. Plus I am just not a big fan of locking tuners.
