All ehx big board build thread, seeking your advice...

inspired by the minimalism boards I've seen around, and the constant "could you do only one brand board" threads, I decided to put together an all ehx big box board. I sold off some gear, and was able to pick up a couple new ehx pedals with the proceeds. Using a pedaltrain3, I have the above so far, with a microsynth in the mail. I want to keep it to six or seven pedals, and am considering rotating off a dmm for something that will give a different sound. I also plan to swap the looper out for a staggered model, these ones are just too close together.

I was looking at a qtron, but after trying one out, and checking some demos, it has a lot of sounds I wouldn't do. As the pedals are arranged like above, there might actually be room for a tube zipper, which could get some sounds that the qtron does, but also so an overdrive sound. I've heard iffy things about their reliability, but with the pedal in a true bypass loop, I thought it might help a bit.

So, what other big boxes would you consider? I also have a hog1 that I could run after, so pog is out, and I don't really need a ring mod. Will post updates as more things arrive.

GOLDFINGER YOU'RE TOTALLY MAD

Love it. Get the microsynth and Hog on there and it's done.

Flanger Hoax? Lots of sounds.

I also applaud this effort. I have just started filling a big pedalboard for the first time and it's an hilarious mix of huge pedals and tiny space savers jammed between them.

Just want to say I'm very jealous of your tall font small stone and big muff combo. Aside from the way they sound, I especially love the way the foot switches feel.

Update, still debating if a tube zipper or English muff'n will fill the final space best, and find a new switcher, I tried this one out and kept tapping 2 switches at the time. I need to find a switcher with 6-7 switches, but I think I might have to go custom to get it to fit.

Got two of these from a reputable source, each chip is tested and videos are available online for the process.

The idea is (once I get a job) to send off one of the dmm to analogman, it is a later model designed for 4 mn3008's, but this one has two mn3005's, so it can get double the delay time.

Sidecar build started, finally had time to try putting pedals on the board, looks like room for a verb

How much do all of those tones weigh?

It's actually not that bad, big box ehx pedals are actually quite light, big package but not much inside. I would imagine if it was all boss double pedals, the weight would be drastically higher.

back from analogman and functioning, definitely clearer sounding in the longer times, though i doubt 1100MS, sounds great.

How much did analogman charge you? My old corded DMM needs a tune-up.

For the verb, Holy Grail Max (the old, big box version) or Cathedral. A Polyphase would be a good friend for your Polychorus

Got that a while back, had a mk1, thought it got stollen from my car, found this one for a good deal, then my friend found the mk1 around his house when he cleaned up. I sold him the mk1 and kept the mk2.

I was thinking about a standard big box holy grail, it fits the room on the board, and will give me some verb options.

Progress, hnb's decal looks killer, still have to drill the box for inputs and outputs, and order some switches and LED's
