Quick CIJ Jag Question...

There's a local gumtree ad for a '94 CIJ Sunburst Jag. It's up for £300, which feels like a good price if it's in decent nick. Am I right? Tempted to give it a whirl on the basis I could sell it on if we don't bond...
Ta.

That's really old for a CIJ but if it in decent shape that sounds like a pretty good price to me.

Seems like £50-100 cheaper than average, so yeah seems good.

If its the one in 'Havant' then it's 2002-2004. He's read from a 'Made in Japan' serial number checker, rather than a 'Crafted in Japan' checker.
Still good deal if he's offering it for £300.

Good price. £300 quid being the going rate for a Japanese Jag have long gone.

I'm sure I remember selling that beat up OTM one to Hurb for something in the high 200/low 300 back in the day.
Prices of guitars have gone crazy. Comparing the 65 reissue Mustang brand new at around 750 compared to the 69 reissues back in the day for around 4/500. Madness. Not to mention how cheap those Baja Teles used to be. Even standard MIM Strats were about £300 around 8 years ago brand new.

Just the other day:
(and yes, that is an original 1977 Mustang for 50 bucks cheaper than the Fender Japan 1977 Mustang reissue).

The Japanese reissue would probably be a better guitar.

they're also list prices, not indicative of a real sale

Yeah I remember you selling that.
I sold a CAR Jag around the same time, one of those without the matching headstock, I got £280 for it on ebay

You still get them for £300-350 sometimes but it's rarer to find them at that price, tho you do see loads more for sale so there may be just as many cheap ones just lots of expensive ones too.
