Miku Stomp!
Ever wanted your guitar to sound like a teenage robotic chipmunk? Now you can (in a few weeks, anyway)!

This is so ridiculous and silly that I sort of want one just for the lulz. I bet you could actually get some fun noises out of this thing.

But what's the pedal do? Just sing out notes in Italian notation with effects?

The Vocaloid software is a really clever and usable songwriting tool (I'm using a different 'singer' version though - Re: my 'robotic chipmunk' comment in the OP) but for many of them you can only type in lyrics that are in Japanese. It's a totally different thing to this pedal...I'm assuming this mimics the vocal characteristics of the Miku voice bank to act on the filtering of the guitar signal. It looks like this just makes vocal harmonies rather than sung words/phrases (apart from the word 'nyan' apparently).
If you want a proper Vocaloid voice synth, the Prima version can do English lyrics, and is relatively cheap. The software is on its third generation now, so some of the voice banks for earlier versions are being upgraded to the Vocaloid 3 standard.
There's a little subculture centred around the Vocaloid software, and some of the people using it are genuinely talented. I'm guessing that this pedal is geared towards them, but I'd still like to play around with this. Putting it in front of a distortion and a looper could be interesting!
EDIT: how about pairing it with one of these?

At the reported ¥13,000 it seems like reasonable chunk for the thrills, and with Korean Won killing the Yen right now I'm even more tempted.
Teh Cinderz and I have decided to not blow a precious month's salary on another luxurious Club Med trip this year, and instead will vacationing for a few days in Osaka next month for a fraction of that. Would love to see if the guitar shops in Shinsaibashi/Namba will have them by then...
