Awaiting NGD - 65 Reissue Mustang

Post by JordanD »

I guess it's no secret I like the Mustang line of guitars, I think I have a bit of a problem tbh.

Anyway, I signed up to that Experian credit thing and saw how my credit score is poor due to not having any credit previously. Few days and a 0% card later I'm anxiously awaiting a Dakota Red 65 Reissue Mustang to arrive.

I thought I'd post this now so you can anticipate this with me. It's the first time I've bought a guitar online completley blind and I'm nervous in case I get a shit one.

Congrats . Mustangs are great . I have 2 . It'll be 3 by Thanksgiving . Most likely a Thinline Mustang to keep some diversity . Red. :D
Only issue you might ( MIGHT ) have with ordering online ( at least for me ) is it might be in need of an intonation set up . Not a big deal .
Enjoy it .

This was meant to arrive on Friday but has been lost by DPD. A day of phonecalls ahead I think. DPD say I need to contact the shop, the shop say it's DPD. Le sigh.

You have to contact the shop so they can give you details/number of the delivery, then they can sort it out.

It shouldn't be a problem to see who's at fault.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I spoke to the shop this morning and they are chasin it up. They said in worst case scenario they will send me the one from the Manchester store as opposed to Leeds where this disappearing-Stang has come from. Problem is I've played the one in the Manc store and it's a bit of a dud.

Don't take the dud. Tell them you want a refund. Hopefully they'll agree and perhaps you can try Ishibashi instead.

Edit: forgot about the duties... Overseas might not be the best deal. Still, I wouldn't settle for the dud.

DPD still haven't found it, I'm waiting on a phonecall today from the guy at Dawsons to tell me what the next step is. Won't be taking the dud.

Yeah, don't take the dud.

Reidy's in Blackburn(?) have them, as do GuitarGuitar in B'Ham.

Well it could only be a dud from a bad set up . A set up and new strings makes a world of difference. As long as it hasn't been manhandled by every schlepp coming in the joint.
