Got this in trade from Rox. I wanted to post pictures earlier, but I have been swamped with work. It is really cool. The contours are really nice. Great feeling neck as well. I am still trying out the Phat Cats he put in it. I have a set of ceramic Gibson pickups I am thinking of putting in, but I am not sure yet. It is a real looker. I guess Rox said he got this at Schecter from the owner. Pretty sweet. :)

If a firebird and a Tele had a child... Nice I like!

These are great fun. My friend has the Robin Finck Ultra. They're great to play.

The only thing I don't like about the finck model is the fire engine red.

I love phat cats. Once I had one in the middle position of my Blazer...I had a p-rails (with 3 way switch for all options) in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. Those other pickups probably would have sounded great on their own but next to the phat cat they just couldn't compare so I only ever used the phat cat.

Guess they may not be everyone's thing tho, and I can't say I was crazy about the look.

That guitar is gorgeous btw, nice score.

i love the look of some schecters but the bodies are just way too big

Body is about the same size as my Jag or Jazzy. I am a big guy too, so that probably helps. :)

I am going to play around with the phat cats some more before I do anything.) The Firebird Tele hybrid is pretty spot on. I like where the toggle is. It is hart to knock by accident. Controls are solid. The tremolo is really solid. I dig this type of headstock more than some of the other Schecter ones. It kind of has a Starcaster-ish look to it with the recessed white bit. It has a volute so the headstock should be solid and I appreciate that knowing the trouble Gibbys have sometimes.

Usually mixed designes don't look very good to me, but this guitar is beautiful. Dig that headstock.

He bought the black version. It looks way better than the red.

It's heavy but it's a great player. I really liked it but I had to have his ET-270.

And that baby is #1 of the 2006 Schecter Ultras. The Prototype. Set up by Mike Ciravolo himself. Cool guy by the way.
The more you play it the more you'll like it and the more I'll have seller's remorse.

I'd post a pic of the ET-270 but it's too busy having her way with my KC Mustang. She's a dirty lil tramp.

Doesn't seem heavy to me. :) Must be deese pythons. ;)

That Epi is pretty fun. It has a super great neck. One of my favorites really and I have a lot of guitars so that is pretty special. :D Rox and I made a deal that if we were to move on with either guitar that we would give the other first shot to get it back. (I don't see myself doing that though because I think it is really cool.) I have over thirty guitars, but only four are by my desk at any given time. At the moment, it is one of the four that I have close by to grab.

Didn't know there was a black version...

Always liked these, good score.

Isn't the Robert Smith Schecter similar to these?

These are seriously sweet guitars, a great score. I've had an Ultra VI since they came out and have been wanting an Ultra III since before then. One of Schecter's best designs.

It's based on the Ultra, yeah, but he altered the body shape a bit, and made some other tweaks and called it an UltraCure.

The Ultracure is FUCKING HUGE. Seriously, it's solid mahogany and as big as a coffeetable.

I think Rox has one of those as well. It is quite a bit bigger. LOL

Just played it some more with my old DS-1 and with my RV-5. Sounds really cool. I like the middle position because it cuts out that single coil hum. :) I need better power that isn't so noisy.

They look similar but in truth completely different. The 2006 Ultra is 24 3/4 scale to 25 1\2 to the Ultracure. Plus the Ultracure is the width of an ES-335 but solid mahogany. Solid. To give you an idea a standard Strat weighs about 7 1/2 pounds. The Ultracure weighs 12 pounds. Just weighed them on my scale.
Despite weight it sounds awesome. Great guitar. If you notice the short distance between the pickups I think that contributes to it.

Here's an example of the size difference.
