I just bought a red one and an orange one. No tax (to Maine), no shipping charges. So two for $100 less than the price for one.
And now I have a complete set: All three Fender colours, and all four Squier colours (plus an extra two Squiers).
I win.

A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

Seem to remember the guy over at Offset who leaked a lot of the new Fender/Squier releases said the line was being phased out.
Edit: actually think it might have been more speculation than anything else (this was the beginning of August before the Super-Sonics started getting heavily discounted):

I'm pretty sure the Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
The Squier '51 has been back in production since last year, selling for $179, and is doing quite well. The Fender '51 was a victim of Pawn Shop Series production moving from Japan to Ensenada. I think all Pawn Shops don't sell that hot, anyway. If you notice the models only last two to three years. That's all part of Fender's marketing shenanigans when they started it. Build a whole series around what are basically just weird-ass FSR models. Currently the Supersonic is now the last Pawn Shop guitar left on Fender's shelves. The three basses are still available, also. I think that series will probably go bye-bye.
A Fender/Squier model will be on Fender.com if there is one still new in a store someplace. For instance, that's why the Pawn Shop Jaguarillo is listed on the site but they haven't been built since late 2012 or so. Also, the two Blacktop Jaguar models were discontinued last year but they're still on there, too. There's a whole bunch of stuff still hanging around.
