Mooer distortions/fuzzes

Hey Y'ALL, I'm looking at one of those teeny tiny Mooer dirtboxes to fuzz up my 2nd amp for Casa Bonita (rather than using the same distortion for both; will help da thickness).

Anyone have experience using any of them with an octaver, like the Micro POG? I'm after something more FUZZY and TIGHT than shreddy distortion, but I don't want something that'll just fold into horrible squishies when hit with an octaver AND drop tunings.

THX x

Want to borrow my Black Secret (ie. Rat clone innit) to try? Best Rat I've ever had ect.

The Black Secret is ace.

Trying to remember if I've used it much with my Micro POG :?

How were you intending to connect it up? Just on the dropped octave output from the Micro POG?

The Fulltone OCD copy might be worth a shout. I remember my MbM copy sounded quite thick.

I used to use a RAT exclusively and know they tend to not take octavers well; it just pushes that squashy compression thing waaay too far and ends up sounding very flat and weak. Thanks tho, buddyyyyy, do love a RAT.

Nah, I'm not trying to fake a bass in that way, both amps have the dry-octave mix, it's just having a totally different distortion sound adds far more thickness as the pedals will react differently.

Tempted to pick up the Triangle Muff clone, as it seems to straddle that fuzz-distortion thing well:

Maybe the Blade? It can get sort of fuzzy, but remains well defined. I haven't used it personally, but I used the Pocket Metal Muff. There's also an ENO clone, although that's eq'ed differently in the video I guess. Actually he uses just the lead pickup too.

A Mooer flexboost has been the only overdrive pedal I've got on with for an extended period of time. It sounds great regardless of what guitar/amplifier I run it through.

Is the jury still out on which Muff version the Triangle Buff sounds closest to? I suppose you could do the usual swapping of resistors and caps to tweak it close to the one you want, but I don't know whether I could be arsed with modding a circuit when it's as snug an enclosure as these Mooers are.

I might look to switching from the Marshall Jackhammer to something slimmer and Mooer-y; can you tell me what you'll have in your shop and when, mate?

Most Poorly Named Pedal Ever aka the Triangle Buff arrived today, it's EVEN smaller than I thought it'd be, the actual length is ridiculous.

Defo keen to replace a few others on my board with some of these, they save STUPID amounts of space, especially seeing as I'm not tweaking anything mid-set, and all my boxes go through a programmable bypass looper.

Yeah, they're absolutely tiny aren't they?

If you're using several they do some whizzy "Z connectors" (or something) so you can connect them really close and save even more space. Probably no use to you though if you're using dat looper thing though.

Aye, I'm mostly using George L and George L-alike style right angled patch cables to keep stuff as streamlined as possible. It's definitely more money that I'd prefer to spend on such things, but I didn't wanna buy an EVEN bigger pedalboard to accomodate some 20 fat-arsed patchcables.

Tiny Muff is 100% what I was after, dead chuffed. Having thoughts about the tuner and the Cruncher/Hustle Drive to further streamline the pedalboard.

They're pretty much ideal for my setup, almost too good to be true.

We have them already. About 15 ish in stock & expanding all the time.

About to order 10 more again but most likely double up on the good sellers, but if there is anything you're keen to try just let me know.

Gonna throw some new ones into the mix.

Sweet, can you tell me if you have the Baby Tuner, Hustle Drive, Black Secret and/or Cruncher in?

Will finally pay y'all a visit at the weekend if so :)

Edit: just checked your site, looks like everything but the Cruncher, sweet. You working tomorrow?
