OD advice

I've been running a Fredric Klone into my Turbo Rat for a while and it sounds great but i've come to realise that the buffer in my klone doesn't agree with my Boss FZ2 and makes it sound a bit rubbish. I'd like suggestions for an OD that will boost my Turbo Rat nicely, like the klone, but when bypassed doesn't alter the sound of my FZ2. Any suggestions?

true bypass loop? I always recommend the Mooer Flexboost. It's based on an Xotic AC Boost, so tubescreamery but less honky (read less mid range hump).

These days i'm using a small board, so a looper isn't really an option. It would be good if the OD worked well as a standalone drive pedal too - which is something the klone doesn't excel at.
Johno, thanks for the suggestion. I get confused with all the Tube Screamer variants - is there much of a difference?

If you prefer something with less of a midrange hump, you could give a simple old OD-3 a try. It has tonnes of volume, doesn't lose any of the bottom-end and can add a bit of grit and compression on its own. I use it to give fuzzes, and sometimes my amp's own overdrive, an extra kick.
EDIT: oops, it was you who sold it to me in the first place, wasn't it? Er...

A mid hump isn't a problem, if it isn't present when the pedal is bypassed. I've heard that the klon buffer adds a slight mid hump when the pedal is bypassed, I think that this might be what's causing the issue with the FZ2. I have thought about the OD3, I quite liked that pedal - the BD2 is good too.

Personally I don't think there is much difference between the ts9 & 808, they make great boosts. I have had loads of ods but always come back to the ts drives, currently have a gearmandude Luther drive. Happy to lend it to you for a week or so if you want to give it a spin with your rig.

Thanks for the offer but I found a really good deal on a used Trex Moller so I jumped on it.
