Excited about this one. I have wanted a bolt on Les Paul and these seem to have pretty good reviews overall. I had seen some Hondo's I liked, but the neck on one I looked at was warped and the guts always look like messy plywood. I think these are better. (Could be the same... whatever. LOL)
Two things sold me on this:
1. The seller said the back of the neck is perfect and no cracks where it mounts. (Two things that always bug my ocd.)
2. It looks like it has pickups like the Hi Flyers had.
I love that guitar! You should get these parts for it.

Wow, that is much nicer than the Univox LPs I've seen / played. Usually they're beat up, and not in a vintage vibe kind of way. Love that color, too! Congrats!

It arrived today! Mercy me! Looks great. Pretty heavy. Seems to be three layers with the body. Two of the brown (mahogany?) layers and the (maple?) cap. The neck connection is clean. The neck itself has a nice slim wide profile similar to other older Japanese necks I have played with. It has the five or so glued layers construction similar to the neck on the ET 270 I had. The three layer binding on the neck looks cool. I like the inlays also. Pickups are awesome. The neck is very warm and full and the bridge is jangley. The hardware is gold plated and worn off in many areas which I think looks cool. The burst is great. The TOM looks pretty solid and the tuners feel good. The pots are pretty clean and all work fine. Toggle isn't noisy. REALLY cool.
Are the pickups hot? I've legends about the univox pickups cobain seemed to adore.

They seem to be pretty loud. About the same output (if not more) than the JB equipped after this demo. (Not noisy loud, volume loud. The noise level is really low really.)
