It seemed boxy when I tried the usual one without pickup, both for strumming and fingerpicking. I think it is a perfect guitar for some tasty I'm-sitting-in-the-kitchen blues licks.

Too bad his cheating ass needs to use a capo to get those tones.

the vintage style film filter really helps bring out the mojo.

It is some sort of Harmony/Nationat/Supro/Valco. Westtexasred seems to be very informed about them

I'd say the hat is doing some heavy lifting itself.

I was going to buy one of these in the hopes that they'd give that "crappy $40 Stella everybody had" look and sound with a "slightly better than that crappy $40 Stella everyone had" playability, but could never find one to try out. The price seems about right if it's even slightly better than those old things, and I loved all the other colours you could get as well as the usual department store sunburst.
Prolly one day. Even if just for playing Classical Gas on the toilet.

actually, all four colors are in stock on amazon, the standard vintage burst, the blue (more like a seafoam green) burst, and the bronze burst are all available with amazon prime, and the red burst is available with $12.95 shipping

It's a Harmony Roy Smeck Stratotone, I think the specific model number is H7208.
