I made a OLC Shred Meister a ways back. I am interested in a project, so I thought I would give the BYOC Shredder a go. I know the OLC pedal isn't a clone, but I hear the BYOC is so I am curious how they sound A/B. (Plus I like wiring and I like making pedal art.)
Whats the gain like on your OLC clone? With my original Shredmaster, it doesn't start to get really dirty until around 2 oclock. Full up its pretty distorted though.

Home sick today. If I feel up to it, I will give it a try and check.

Messing with the knobs.

The kit came in so I got to work on it. Put all the parts out in order and got ready to solder. I wanted to wire stuff up and test it before I worried about the decal and stuff to avoid having to take it apart and back together when it is decaled and messing that up.

Your build gets dirtier alot quicker than mine, I wonder if something is up with my OG pedal?
Weird, why does this only have 1 opamp? The MKI Shredmaster has 2, I believe they're TL072's. Maybe its utilizing a quad opamp instead of 2 dual opamps.

Maybe OLC's version upped the gain?

The one and only Shredmaster clone. OLC doesn't produce much in the way of clones, but this was born from a request I received several months ago. After building a prototype, I realized it was an excellent distortion pedal. It has been modified for more gain and more control in the tonestack.
Yup
I'll have to look into what was component was changed for the gain.

Ooooo that artwork, I have a byoc but hate the enclosure, any chance you would sell an enclosure like that in the future? Rehouse ftw.

If your pedal is the same size as the one they send, I could just mail you one of mine to apply. It is just a waterslide. I normally print out three to be safe and almost always just need the first one.

Oh and I did change it slightly. I will post a pic because I am going to apply it tonight. I got rid of the white boxes under the volume/tone/etc. I also added "OK" before "SHREDMASTER" so it reads "OK SHREDMASTER"

I need to buy another case or strip mine, it has a weird melted paint/tiedye thing going on. Still have my shipping info?

Here is how it looks. I will trim the holes tomorrow. If you dig it, pm me your shipping info again and I will get some in the mail your way.
I use a razor and drag it against the edge around the circle lightly and the little decal circle falls through the hole. I don't poke it through the decal, just gently scrape the circles edge.
