It used to be JM/Jag, and I still love it to bits. But I prefer the strat trem properly set up - more scope.

Mustang trem, I'm a bit biased I suppose as I play one regularly and don't have any other trems in house besides some strats.

JM/Jag for me. Specifically US one with StayTrem upgrade.

I like the trem on my ovation. Which is bigsby-esque with a bit more range and a much more comfortable handle.

				Strat.
Would like to try a Jazzmaster though to see how I get on with it.
I'd probably regard the Floyd Rose as a strat derivative too.

Never used a Strat trem that stayed in tune.. seems kind of a bust to have to do x, y, z and a special dance in order to make it work properly.
Jazz/JM for the win, gigged one for years with no tuning issues whatsoever, and no special dance.

Weird, never had a strat trem that I haven't been able to set up to be rock solid. My Jagmaster will not go out of tune, no matter how much I batter it.

Jazz/JM first, vintage for preference, followed by Bigsby.
Can't get on with Strat trems or Floyds - I like the trem to be separate from the bridge.

Felt this way about 12 years now. I'll always
enjoy using a Jag trem more (as a feel thing), but a well-made Strat unit well-installed on a guitar and set up so it hardly ever goes out of tune is a glorious thing to have.
Doog's right though, it's a pain in the ass. Once I get it set up I only change strings one at a time with the same gauge set.

It's the Strat for me also. Don't get the whole pain in the ares bit, it's just a matter of setting the claw correctly and how many springs you need depending on your chosen strings. 9s get 2 springs (this is what I currently use), 11s get 3... the never been able to set one up to be totally stable using 10s for some reason!? and I change all my strings in the one go no messing about with one at a time.... surely you have to adjust the spring tension on a Jazzmaster / Jag depending on how heavy your strings are?

Jazz/jag trem for me. I also have a Bigsby on my Sheraton which I love for the shimmers. I spent time setting it up, streching strings and graphite the nut and tom bridge, stays in tune like a champ fuck teh haterz.

Put a 'set-up' Strat in my hands with a tuner and I'll show you how wrong y'all are.
