so after a long break i finally give you this.......

I am pretty much a solid tele player. the only guitar i play without fail at gigs is my baja tele. i was playing my best friends 30th party and just before we kicked off the gig, the baja stopped working. i had to resort to the strat, which had old strings on and kinda felt weird to play after being so used to my baja. after a week or so with the tech, it was finally the bridge pickup that had died, so needed replacing, as did the 4 way switch. whilst that was in the shop, i nipped into my local guitar shop and they had the LTD on the wall. tried it out and was really surprised by the sound and quality for the price. talked them down to £250 and it was mine. played it a hell of a lot recently, to the point that i've only just picked the baja up from repairs (been ready for about a month now). i feel that a bit of a setup tweak and maybe some hardware/pickup changes later on will make it even better.

It's got that Keith Richards vibe going on, hasn't it.

very much, though it's not a crispy neck humbucker. sounds very flutey/woman-tone/fuzzbox kinda vibe.

i'd like a nice bright paf style and some proper fender style split post tuners.

brodown, get whatever neck pickup Squier put in the John 5 tele. IT'S WHAT YOU WANT.

I like the LTD, although I like mostly all Teles that haven't been ruinously messed about with. This tech though... the pickup AND the switch? I'd ask for both these thing back because that is kinda unlikely. Also the bridge pickup may have been worth rewinding - check the Catswhisker prices.

the tech is a friend of the band. at first he thought it was the switch, so changed that. after that didn't solve it, he discovered the bridge pickup was open circuit. he's stuck in a seymour duncan broadcaster pickup and that cost me £45 for all the work and parts.

Nice Tele, the only thing I'm not keen on with esp's is the 12th fret markers.

Good price on the tech work too.

That's a really cool guitar, I do like telecasters with neck humbuckers.
