Guitar Center had one for pretty cheap listed as five stars with a case. Had to get it. Looks a lot like this one.

Looks like a guitar someone on here built a few years ago... Rob?

I think they're made of sawdust with a fancy name. Not bad guitars at all, I had one for awhile.

Yeah I read it has an mdf like body. Epoxy and wood pushed in to a mold. GC dude said it was light. We will see. Necks are supposed to be nice and pickups are supposed to be Melody Maker ones. It has a tummy contour. Gibson's budget student model to take on Fender's Mustang I guess?

Cooterfinger has KG model with Mustangesque body, he rerouted it for P90s and I guess is satisfied with it

Yeah, they're pretty neat guitars. Mine has some weight to it though.
The original pickups and trems go for big money so you can find the parted out body/necks on ebay
fairly regularly. I dig the necks. They'd be perfect for a bolt on firebird build.

Woo it came so finally some pics. Before those, basic experience so far. VERY impressed with this one. The hardware seems to be very sturdy. A couple tuners could use lubrication, but it is pretty old so that isn't unusual. The pickups sound pretty great. Normal slight hum from single coil pickups, but very good tone. Intonated really well and has nice action. The tremolo is pretty cool. Good at subtle surfy sounds. The pots are pretty good. Might benefit from a spray, but I normally keep everything full so I am not worried. The slider switch is the same, but works ok as is. The neck is really nice. I like that it has a volute which surprised me. Why on a Kalamazoo and not a Gibby? LOL This seems to have come with it's original case and some other old stuff. You guys can check the pics and let me know what you think they are.

Here is the case.

Oh and the guitar was in there also. In great shape except the nut and that still works fine.

Pretty cool pictures. Looks like it is in great condition and I guess it sounds great clean or slightly overdriven.

I think it sounds pretty good with a lot of stuff. A lot like a mustang, but a little different tone. Was pretty excited to see the old goodies in it. :) The strings box still has strings in it I think.
