I was in a local guitar shop today and they had a 70s Antigua Strat in and i really liked it.

That is fucked up.

I never had my phone with me as I was just popping in for some lemon oil or I would have snapped some pics. It was sooo ugly that it looked great. With a black guard swapped for the Antigua one it'd look way better tho....... Luckily for me it didn't have a rosewood fingerboard. Otherwise I could have been in serious trouble.

Would love one.

on the coronado it works very well, but yeah i'm not a fan of it in general. im sure a 70s strat of any description could be charming in person though

It wasn't quite the usual aged colour, it was a bit darker so not the usual rotten egg/baby sick colour. It was a bit dinged so that helped.

The shocking thing about this is that you then told us about it, as though you're pleased with yourself.

Antigua is cool, better than candy apple red at least.

...Not pleased with myself, I was just very surprised that I found the finish quite cool in the flesh. I'd never seen one in that colour that I liked before.

Yeah, there was an antiqua Coronodo Bass II for sale here a couple years back, if there had been any way I could afford it it would have been mine. That thing was tits.
