Pawn Shop Super-Sonic Switch/Electronics

Hello everyone,

I obtained a Fender Super-Sonic some time ago. It was in pristine cosmetic condition but required some work on the frets, electronics, etc. The pickup selection switch appeared to be faulty and introduced crackling in two positions. I took the guitar to a tech and they improved the action and repaired the switch by wrapping it in insulation tape. However, recently the switch has started to malfunction again with crackling audible in the middle position. The switch has always felt flimsy, does it simply needs to be replaced? If so, what would be an appropriate replacement?

It's a very cool guitar overall and I just want to eliminate this problem. Hope someone can help!

I would buy a new switch. They are only around $14.

Yes, that seems to be the best approach but I can't get that link to open. Do I just need a Gibson-style switch?

Do you think this would fit in a Pawn Shop Mustang? The switch has always been shitty in it. I bought a couple of replacements but they never fit the body cavity. I eventually gave up and bent the connections so it favored the neck position which is what i use for the most part.

these are the easiest to work with. 3 prong in back 1 prong in front. fit in everything.

and they match seymour duncan schematic sheet for 2 Vol, no tone, 2HB set up like a supersonic perfectly.

super easy to set up. my favorite knob set up. fuck an tone knob 4 life

I recently obtained one of those switches and I can confirm that it is smaller than the stock switch, so hopefully it will fit without any difficulties.

Has anyone replaced the pots on the Pawn Shop Super-Sonic?

The bridge is actually from a 1990s Squier Super-Sonic. As are the tuners.
I bought the body, neck, neck plate, and bolts from Stratosphere and then added the rest. So, yes, new pots was the least of it (I put 500k CTS pots in it).
