Jagstang eBay Issue

Hey! I have a refinned Jagstang that came in today and the neck hangs over the edge of the heel a little bit. The top corner of the plate even hangs a little off the edge. Anyone seen this before? Trying to decide if I keep it or not.

It looks like it was over sanded when stripped. It's a pretty common thing to see, it always seems to be in the same spot too. It doesn't make it unstable so if it doesn't feel weird to you just keep it.

Going to see if the seller would knock some off the price. That way I could just buy a different body to use. If not, I will ship it back. It has some other issues I would need to fix. Needs new Kluson tuners. These are loose. I need to fill a bunch of dings in the neck. The frets are pretty worn. The white finish has two paint blems. (The look like time size bubbles that are likely drips or something.)

Maybe I could get cooterfinger to make me a body. :) (one that has a pocket that fits... LOL)

By the way has anyone ever seen a Mustang tremolo mounted with pickguard screws? This one was mounted with them...

It sounds like it would be easier to just send it back. That's a bucket o issues.

Yeah unless he is willing to knock some money off, that seems best.

Requested a refund. Seems to have too much stuff to have to fix for my taste. All the blems just make me have a sour reaction to it than excited. Smarter to go a different route.

this is a body issue. not a neck issue

you can try different neck screws with a different thread

wonky neck pockets, drilling and bridges etc seems pretty normal for fender though

I've seen this before on stock fenders actually. Not a big deal just not that pretty haha. Let me see the rest of the guitar!

This.

My JS build is the same for those reasons.
Unless you have OCD I dont see a problem, it makes zero difference to the sound. This is the kind of thing you live with in the vintage market, stuff shrinks, discolours and deteriorates but if the guitar plays and sounds good, who cares?

Already sent it back. There were other issues that just didn't thrill me. More work than I wanted to do. Dents in the fretboard and neck, really worn frets, needed new tuners and possibly a new term because the springs kept falling off the posts, etc. it will likely be up on eBay again soon since I returned it. I called it a neck issue because the neck looked too wide for the pocket, but whatever.

Undeclared issues are a bitch with eBay purchases. You'll find another one soon enough :)

So now I am getting delayed in a refund. I sent it back to the seller to the p.o. box eBay gave me and after it went out, he messaged me to not send it there, but to a different address.... He says he doesn't have that address anymore.

So the guitar is sitting there. Maybe they will return it and he will want me to pay shipping again to send it to another address... I am just kind of sick of it. Nothing but problems.

File a claim. You sent it to the return address you were given. Fuck that guy.

I talked to an agent on the phone. They said to call tomorrow if he hadn't refunded me. What a pain. LOL

If you see it up again, hopefully none of you pick it up unless all that stuff doesn't bug you. :)

Yay eBay! They ruled in my favor on the guitar. eBay ruled in my favor since I returned it to the address they have on file so I should be refunded in 24-48 hours. :D
