Mooer Thunderball with guitar?

Post by Fakir Mustache »

Looks like a copy of the Electro Harmonix Nano Big Muff based on the controls:

All the demos on utoob seem to be with bass though.

When you press the accelerator past halfway it doesn’t actually go any faster, but the engine noise distorts

I believe that's a Bass Blogger, not a Muff. Including synonyms for volume and gain, those are pretty standard dirt pedal controls. The fuzz/distortion modes aren't on any Muff either, I don't think.

I don't think so, only the Nano Bass Big Muff has the mode which mixes fuzz and dry signal.

I guess I should have specified BASS, I meant it, but left it out.

It's also exactly the same price as the Nano Bass Big Muff at Thomann.

I'm a fan of the Bass Muffs used with guitar, they're similar to Sovteks and have plenty of mids and grit on tap which are great for cutting through with a band... something most official Muff iterations lack.

hmm, I recently tried both the Nano Bass Big Muff and the regular Nano Big Muff side by side in a shop, and strangely enough found the regular Nano Big Mufff to be more like a Sovtek like I would think.

For one thing, the Nano Bass Big Muff had very poor bass, unless you put it in the mode that mixes with the dry signal. The second problem was that the max gain was much lower, almost like an overdrive.
