Bass DI Pedal

Can someone please recommend a Bass Di type pedal? I think I remember someone on here buying one of the cheap clones and saying they were really good. It's for playing without needing a bass amp as the place I'll be using has a PA I can plug into.

A couple of different options and pros and cons would be dandy.

i've got the behringer one, it was about £40 and is totally useable (played a gig with it when my bass combo died during soundcheck- sounded absolutely fine).

Yeah, best bass DI = Sansamp. So best cheap DI is Behringer clone of a Sansamp.

The BDDI is an industry standard of sorts, but I'm not a huge fan of the mid scoop. I suspect the VT bass DI is the best alternative to that, but I dunno if Behringer have got around to cloning it yet.

Obviously too late now but I bought a Dr. J D53 Sparrow Driver and DI and it's excellent have been gigging with it since March.

I picked up the Behringer DI BDI21. If I find I end up using it often I can always punt this and upgrade. The DR J one does look way sturdier.

Depending on what happens with this band I may end up having to get a compact head with a DI to cover all the bases to take about. My only "bass" amp is my Bassman and fuck taking that lop-sided behemoth anywhere. I've already picked up another M9 cheap for effects. I needed a compressor anyway so went with multifx route as the M9 cost about the same as a standalone pedal anyway.

I also don't know why the Bassman gets such a bad rap as a Bass amp. The bass channel on mine sounds lush.

you can pick up an ashdown mag300 head for dirt cheap, i've heard bass nerds complaining about them but mine has been great. it's light, sounds pretty good and if it breaks, who cares.

edit: had a bit of bother with the ashdown combo right enough, but it was other people who fucked it each time.

Sounds good. It's just a head i want to get. The smaller the better.
