Vintage Teisco

Post by MattK »

Took a trip to Japan with my family, on a secret mission to buy something vintage and Japanese. Found a Teisco DG-67 at ROCK FIELD in Okayama. Owner Youji Ikeda was a real enthusiast - the Teisco was his personal guitar bought back in the 60s. It's a pretty rare bird, Japan only and made for just one year. Beautiful quality.

Yes. That wall is almost all vintage. Yes. That's his tropical fish tank in front.

Georgeous! I love the blocked and bound neck. Amazing find! Looking forward to more pics.

Indeed I did - Youji san cut me a great deal, and threw in some strings, and it's now in my living room in Hobart. Unfortunately I'm not, at the moment, so pictures have to wait until later in the week.
I have a very understanding wife who let me fill our luggage with this Teisco and a used Fender Japan VI - think I am just about done with collecting for now.

Super cool. I love the shape of the horns and the carved recess behind the bridge.
