Birch plywood seems to be very popular these days. I have built cabinets from chipboard. What's available in Sarawak?

I've built 3 different sized cabs up till now, a 1 X 12 and 2 2 X 12's using both MDF and marine ply. The obvious traits are the weight V's cab size.
The mdf ones are damn heavy, but cheap and tough, where the ply one is lighter and just as tough.
From now on i'll use marine-or-whatever-ply, but its like NickS said...its down to what you can lay your hands on!

Curiously, my rather heavy HH 70s 1x15 bass reflex cab is made with an inner plywood cabinet that's then covered in chipboard.

Yeh odd, but not too crazy...my "Like a Brick" 1980's Fender Super 60 1 X 12 is made totally from HD Particle Board
