the sound of Slint?

Picked up one of these for cheap today, haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, but am expecting it (a long with my HM-2) to sound like Slint:

I'm sure I read that the American Metal is an HM2 clone. There's even a Super American Metal that has treble and bass knobs.
I'm pretty sure that David Pajo used both of these.

Had a bit of guitar time last night, doing some recording / messing about... This thing sounds SHITE with humbuckers however it redeems itself when using a Tele or a Strat especially on the neck pickup. Keeping the distortion set low like the Pajo setting Norrie posted as there is a lot of distortion in this wee box and after about 12 o'clock it'sa bit HIGH GAIN!!! for my liking.
