Behringer bargains (UK)

Post by NickS »

I couldn't resist getting the Behringer UO300 Ultra Octaver to fiddle with, at £14 + £2 p&p delivered from Gear4Music. It's in the post.

However, I'm also tempted by the clearance at DV247 on the >> Behringer VT911 << 12AX7 tube-based overdrive pedal at £11. Apparently it's too high-gain but easily modified to be quite nice. That money for any tube-based pedal seems cheap as chips but I have no real need for it... I think.

DV247 also have the >> BCH100 Bass Chorus << at only £7.99. If only they didn't want nearly £5 for carriage...

Your comments, experiences, opinions, abuse, etc. on any of those three pedals?

The bypasses are always TRASH, but the sonds are always kool.

I've got a Time Machine DMM clone and the ubiquitous Muff clone, they sound fantastic but they're almost useless without a TB loop to put them in.

the overdrive sounds more like a fuzz

sounds better with the gain way turned down with the tone right up.

Apparently a huge improvement is to replace the stock 500K gain pot with a 50K one. It's in the gain loop of an op-amp that drives the tube but ends up going into limiting itself any time you get above around 3 on the 500K, so it gives you finer control.
