Fixed the RM600

Post by NickS »

A while back I accidentally plugged a Yamaha keyboard PSU (12v centre +ve) into my Behringer RM600 and blew it up. I got a hold of a schematic for another Behringer DSP-based pedal recently and found that it was similar enough to be able to make a stab at diagnosis. With the aid of the illuminated stand magnifier my daughter gave me for Christmas I removed the grain-of-rice transistor T1.

With the aid of a wooden skewer and a microscopic dot of contact adhesive I positioned a new grain of rice and soldered it in place.

Nice one, definitely a fiddly little job doing those surface mount repairs.
