Is it cool? I have always loved the ej 160e. I thought it looked cool cause it was an acoustic with knobs on it. It comes with stacked p100 pickup now but I've never heard of them.

I don't know about the guitar but the P-100s are o.k. They are kind of like P-90s but much lower in output. A lot of people hate them because they won't pummel guitar pre-amps into distortion if you don't use pedals. Maybe also a tad brighter than a P-90, but not a whole lot.

they sounds like muddy swamp arse to me
swapped them out straight away from some regular p90s
i get the convenience of no hum but its too much of a compromise for me

I'm thought the p100s in the Vintage V100 had a nice growl to them.

we talking about the same pickup as in this beauty?
ej-160e
I rather it said Lightnin Hopkins on there instead of John Lennon.. Nothing against John of course, i'm a huge fan but it would have more street cred with lightnin on there

hold up a minute.. the original came with a p-90? wow.. i had no idea.. i thought it was different.. they want a lot for an old gibson 160e.. like a lot lot
so i thought the p100 was a pickup made for an acoustic guitar.. i had this all wrong.

The current P-100 should be a noiseless P-90, but i don't really orient well in the gibson territory.

A P-100 sounds nice clean. A real P-90 might sound interesting too. You could swap I guess.
Depends what you want out of that guitar.

You could always put a DiMarzio Super Distortion in there.
