BEST WAY TO LOOSEN TREM ARM COLLET?

OK, I have a Fender Trem with the collet missing. I was going to use the one out of a spare Squier trem but I can't get the damn thing loose. Any suggestions/tips? Is there some sort of knack to it?
Thanks in advance.

It's got a bolt head on it (under the trem cover) no?

Yeah but it's locked right on there and not for budging.

What are you using to undo it?

Brute force. I don't have a vice.

I meant as in what tool.
If it is an adjustable spanner or similar, get a spanner of the correct size, if you are using a spanner of the correct size, use more brute force, possibly involving levers.

I had bugger all tool-wise at home. A adjustable wrench/spanner did indeed do the trick!
