Hey guys, I am new to this forum, but I thought I'd join since I just bought my first shortscale: a 1975 black Fender Mustang. It's all original except for the bridge. I am not able to lower the action on this replacement bridge, so if there isn't somehow another way to lower the action, what bridge should I pick up so that I may do so?

To adjust the height of the bridge, you need to insert a size zero philips head screwdriver into the tiny holes on each side of the bridge (next to low e and high e saddles).

If the screws are stripped get a replacement mustang bridge. Get one that matches the radius of the neck.

I have a staytrem bridge on my mustang. This is cool because you use allen key to adjust height and intonation and don't have to worry about rattling screws. The guys sells a version for 7.25 and 9.5 radius fretboards:

The bridge is already lowered all of the way though

If the bridge is lowered sll the way to the scratchplate, then you'll need to put a shim in the neck pocket to raise the fretboard/neck up towards the strings. Then readjust the bridge to optimum. It sounds stressful, but it's actually really easy. Loads of online tutorials and vids.
