For a long time I said I'd never own a strat but I have a friend that keeps asking to borrow a guitar, and it's not that I don't trust him, I just don't trust the potential situation he might be in so I don't want to lone my expensive guitars out.

So I picked up a semi-chewed up Squire Affinity Strat at Sam Goody for $79. I might just let him keep it or my daughter can take it to college this fall.

Nice! That is the model that I learned on. I'm sure a lot of others could probably say the same.

It's down the highway from the G'itar Center, in a former western wear space, in a very 1987 part of town.

Those Affinity models are surprisingly good.
I'd take that traditional tremolo over the two point fulcrum type any day.

You'll probably end up playing it more than your friend

Cool strat at a great price, I like these affinities for their feather weight

I have to say for the price I am very, very impressed. Now how hard is it to strip off the paint to go a different color.
