And whoever else?

So Empires awesomely got in touch with me a week back and offered to gift this to me as a fixer upper. It was an incredibly generous and cool thing to do and I was delighted when I received it! I'd liked the guitar since it was first put together on the boards and Empires remembered my interest.

It didn't need much, I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. The bridge pickup was already a Dimarzio Super Distortion, and I knew I had an other Dimarzio going largely unused in another guitar (an 80s PAF pro I think?), so I installed that in the neck. I've strung it with 013s and tuned to D standard. This thing rocks! Still getting used to the Jazzmaster switching and I'm still not entirely certain it's wired right, but there are a lot of great sounds in there.

It could do with a new nut, the current one is broken but doesn't affect playability. I would also like to get a new bridge for it. Something Tune-o-matic but with height adjustable saddles as I'm not sure what the radius is on the neck.

Quick phone demo (oh, for the love of a guitar tuner):

Your neighbours must love you, hahaha

Glad you're so pumped by it, Jazzmasters are truly the most ergonomic guitars, mine fit me like a frickin glooooove

If you can still hear the guitar acoustically, it's not loud enough.

Free guitars are always great... but that's a particularly good free guitar day.

I owned it briefly after Fran (I think it was Fran). Pickups were awesome but neck wasn't quite for me.

Not one of mine at any point, but it sounds beastly.

Ha! That's a blast from the past Paul. Proper Shortscale history.
Did quite a few gigs with that, always sounded good. Can't remember why I sold it now, probably during one of my many work less periods.

Good to see you have it, I know you'll put it through it's paces.
Sounds ace through the Matamp.

I checked on FB when Noirie posted the above & he doesn't seem to be active on there either.
