NPD - Noisemaker Effects Crush Fuzz (with demos)

Post by luciguci »

I was looking around for a cheap two knob fuzz on Reverb because I wanted something simple that I could set and forget, since my other fuzz pedals have too many settings I like. Found this and couldn't find a lot of info on it, and the few demos I've found all sounded different, but I figured why not and impulsively bought it for $60 shipped. I played with it for a bit and found that unity gain was about 9:00 and the "Thick" knob is really subtle. It's more dynamic at minimum, and at maximum its more compressed, but overall it sounds pretty transparent.

From what I found, this is the precursor to the Noisemaker Soda Pop, but I wasn't able to confirm that.

Opened it up and here's what it looks like inside. Just seven components, orange LED for clipping. Dead fucking simple.

That actually sounds really good, especially the low gain/bridge tones, what amp are you using?

Kustom "The Contender" 18w, it's tube preamp, solid state power amp. It's done me so well for years, I just want to put the amp into a bigger cab one day.

Anyways, I've recorded a couple clips direct into my mixer to give an idea of how the fuzz sounds like with better audio.
