I'm thinking of putting a Jagstang neck on my vintage Jaguar.
The Jag neck is about worn out, it's a '64, thus making the guitar a bit redundant.
Anybody tried a CIJ neck on an American body? I'm wondering if it will fit the neck pocket. Any info would be useful before I dismantle two guitars.

Out of interest, why not pay for a refret?

The rosewood is quite thin George, clay dots as well, I'm not sure it would take it. Then there's the cost, I can't afford it at the moment.
Besides, I love the JS neck and don't use that guitar, but miss the Jaguar.

You might have to redrill the JS neck.

Cheers Rob.
Gonna take a look at it next week when I'm less busy.

The answer is a resounding...
...maybe. Japanese Fender necks are generally wider than American necks , but you may be lucky. Depends on the tolerances they were working to. The screw holes should be fine, in my experience.

So many answers I don't know who to believe.
I'll get them both out of storage, take some measurements and go from there.

The Mexican Duo neck needed some work to fit on my Jaguar.
There’s a tiny gap on the lower neck pocket but it’s cool.
Doog put my old CIJ Jaguar neck on his VM Mustang.
They’re made to US specs, worked out alright for him. He just had to shim the sides of the neck pocket.
