Probably gonna get a humbucker in my Jaguar.
Anyone got recommendations?
Was thinking something ‘59 PAF Style, maybe even a gold foil.

If you go high gain prepare for audible ghost notes coming from behind the bridge. I ended up putting a hair bobble around the the strings to mute them.
Sonic Yoof innit.
It was a while ago but I think you need a F Spaced bucker. It's not easy to do the route either because the bridge pots sit proud of the body and get in the way of the router base. May be easier persevering with a Dremmel type tool.

I can barely tie my shoelaces. Am I fuck gonna route it myself. Plus been refinished and bastardised, so not a big deal
Was thinking a Firebird pup like Will Sergeant.
Mostly play clean/low gain so guess lower output is what I’m after

(Aware that me posting about Firebird pickups is always verging on self-parody, but...)
Firebird pickups are so Fender-y sounding that you may end up doing a lot of work and spending out, only to sound about the same. Play a Firebird first?
I always think Filtertrons sound good in Fenders though.

My Vista Jagmaster has SD59s, which I enjoy, but have put me in a weird situation where I prefer the bridge pickup to the neck.

I used to have a Duncan Custom (TB-5) in my Jag, sounded pretty good from what I remember.
But...not as good as when I put P90s in it.

That poor guitar.
Maybe try a single-sized humbucker and spare the gutting?

Nah, fuck a router, slot a humbucker in there with a hammer.

I bet it looks older than my '64 with all the abuse it's gone through.
Post a picture up Rob!

In the bridge of my Jaguar right now I have a late 70s "patent number" Gibson pickup and I love it. I've never tried a PAF style or "vintage style" humbucker that comes close to the real thing. But they're pricey.
If you go full size and don't want to spend a ton...DiMarzio Bluesbucker, Duncan '59 or AlNiCo II Pro. If you don't do full size...I have
a set of these in a P90 routed guitar and love them.

I think the body and the metal plates are the only original bits on there.
I'll keep an eye out for a lil 59 or something. Considered a cheap Artec one but that would still require some gutting.

Yeah, for the sake of the trouble I'd go a with a single sizer, nothing too hot. Maybe a Li'l 59 or one of the lower-output GFS blades.
Less vintage crunchos that comes with old-school twin coil real estate, but at least you'd have the push, probably still enough highs, + a still functional pickguard/body.

Looks in better condition than I thought it would Rob. What neck you got on it? Headstock looks small.

Yeah is a Mexi Duo neck. I sold the CIJ one to Doog.

I can't believe Doog would do that. Desecrating a Fender Jaguar for his own needs...
