American Performer Mustang and Mustang bass

Saw this over at Offsetguitars.com. USA made mustangs, the guitar even has a proper trem. No slidy switches though. Bass looks weird with truncated bridge and Jazz bass knob setup, but is still cool IMHO.

That looks pretty darned nice. I never was a fan of slidy switches anyway.
What colour is that though? Some sort of shell pink?

Cool to see American Mustangs again, shame the necks will be shit.

I fell for the 'added Bass bridge pickup' meme once before. Never again.

Same. The switches looked quirky but ripped your hand to shreds and most people only used two settings anyway.
The three-way is an improvement imo.
Not sure why I'm concerning myself with this though, no doubt I'd be able to pay my mortgage for eight months of the year for the price of one of these.
Looks more Burgundy Mist than Shell Pink.

I literally cannot imagine a situation where I would spend a grand on a guitar, but jeeeez that yellow one is calling to me.

There was a limited edition of the Duo-Sonic in Canary Yellow, should cost about half but it's hard to find.

UGH WHY AREN'T THESE THE SAME COLOUR
The 'Stang looks as pale as my Squier, but I really like it with that yellowed perloid, might have to seek one of those
scratchies out..
RE: switches, the Squiers have those recessed/shorter (and slightly more rounded) switches, and I have yet to catch my hand or clothing on them
ONCE.
Dang, they've pulled the page you linked to

Alas, I think the black pickup covers/knobs/switch tip on the Mustang are what makes the yellow look good.

Not that you're selling or I'm buying, but you've swapped the neck on yours, right? What did you do to the original one?
