trying to start making a strat

Hi shortscalers (I havent been writting here in a while, but always fun feeling to check out the 'feeling' here) !
And I finally want to make a guitar.A friend gave me somekind of stratocaster type body (finished in white) from the 80s (so he claimed).
And I thought maybe I could put in a strat type neck, fixed bridge (or is that useless if it already has a tremolo system hole in the body), gretsch (filtertron) type pickups.

The hardest part now could be getting the right neck, yes ?

If putting together a strat isnt too boring  I would be happy to ask some advices (where to start), or any ideas. Get a bump to start doing.

Thanks.

(sorry for me messing up where should I have posted this)

Hey Izodiak - I built a strat a few years ago. There's a thread here. It was much more straightforward than I expected (and, weirdly, easier than making a tele).

I've also done this.

I the body is already routed for a tremolo, it probably makes most sense to put the tremolo on and lock it down.

I also vote for installing a trem and just blocking it off as the quickest and easiest solution to a hardtail... less room for alignment error or pickguard fit issues with the vast majority of affordable guards/bridges you'll find out there too.
