Got an old pickup that might need a rewind. Any recommendations for such services in the UK?

There’s a company called oil city pickups. Rewound/repaired a tele neck pick up for me. Was very pleased.

What pickup is it Chris? I bought a set from mojopickups earlier his year, and he is brilliant.

Not 100% sure. It was sent to him by a guitar tech who was setting up the guitar. So he subbed it out. Not cheap I don’t think.

From £30 a coil. Seems reasonable I guess?

Catswhisker Pickups also does rewinds, but I've not used him since 2010 when he rewound a Simeto single coil for £20.

I contacted Mojo pickups about a rewind a year or so back but they said they were too busy making pickups to take on repair work. Not sure if that’s still the case.

Still haven’t got that pickup rewound so interested to find out how you get on.

Mojo and Creamery are both exceptionally busy these days. I've bought pickups from Oil City which are great so i'm sure he'd do a good job.

I'll second Mojo I've bought a few sets from him now and they've all been great.

Mojo's Broadcaster and Esquire bridge pickups are superb! I also have a set of mixed alnico 5/3 Mojo Strat pickups that I put in recently but i've not had time to give them a proper go yet.

Another vote for Mojo. I have a set in my AVRI Jaguar.

most people were busy who I asked and now everything is in storage as we started having building work done (which stopped with the lockdown)
