After YEARS of wanting one of these I finally picked one up. I missed out on the blowout price when they were discontinued and couldn’t bring myself to buy one at the price they were when reintroduced as it was literally you’ve the price.
This week one popped up for sale and I’m happy to say that the seller accepted my offer. The guitar is amazing. New bone nut, fret level&polish, Lollar vintage bridge pickup, Texas Special in the neck, compensated saddles fully upgraded electronics, new vintage aged looking knobs (that I will probably swap for witchhats), new pickguard. Neck is a good bit chunkier than I expected from a Japanese guitar.
It’s currently got one steel compensated saddle and two brass ones. I guess there’s some toan lore to do with that I’m not familiar with. It also came with the rest ot]f both sets of saddles, the original threaded ones, OG pickguard, knobs and an extra top had tip (it was white so it was removed straight away).

Sexy beast!
Re: 62ri Telecaster
It’s all gloss. It’s Japanese so it has gloss EVERYWHERE. Well, apart from the fretboard ![😂](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f602.svg)

Bound Teles always look class, nice one.
Re: 62ri Telecaster
Looks very classy indeed, congrats! Is the neck a C or a U? As far as I know originally they started making thin necks with the introduction of the bound Customs going from thick Vs and Us to thin Cs

Re: 62ri Telecaster
Def not a U or a thin C, More of a chonky C.
I got it all set up today. The previous owner had the neck tightened and totally flat so a touch of relief and it was sorted!!
