okay, im bored of my pedals, since they are only gain pedals and a wah. so i want to buy a new one. i've been thinking about either a trem pedal or phaser.

so, the carl martin surf trem looks like a good one and im definately down with the small stone phaser.

and i had a reverb in mind but also i dont know which one, maybe the holy grail...

which one first?

I would get a Danelectro Tuna Melt over the Carl Martin - it's about a tenth the price for a start, and sounds fantastic.

hmm, the pulsar sounds much better than the carl martin surf trem.

i wont buy a delay just yet.

The pulsar is a worse, noiser, larger and much more expensive pedal than the Tunamelt tremelo and it has a non standard adaptor. Why are you so intent on throwing your money away?

you can get some real nice deals on pedals on ebay. you dont have spend alot to have a nice delay. and delay is way more useable than a phaser.

From my experience, the Pulsar set w/speed&depth=0 is a better light treble boost at the end of a long signal chain than trem.

For that I like it (although I don't need one), but noise scared me away as well.

It's a very nonlinear EH style effect - odd stuff happens after 3 o clock on the depth dial. I just don't like it - it can't do the vintage throbs or the modern chops.

tuna melt sounds great for such a loooooow price indeed, i'm very happy with it, it's small, uses a standard adapter... easy ! carl martin looks better but is more limited.
some of those danos (tho they may look a bit stoopid) are wonderful, i use their pepperoni phaser too, when you're not really sure about what kind of fx you're gonna be using a lot then they're the perfect solution.
you don't want to spend a hell lot of money on a fancy pedal when you're not really sure you're going to use it a lot yet.

why do you want a reverb pedal ? most amps have a built in reverb no ? but if yours doesn't, or you don't like the built in one i'd go for the affordable classics like a dano spring king or holy grail indeed... reverb is nice but it's not really a drastic/noticeable effect like a phaser or something, i can't really imagine playing without reverb tho

Some people really love it, I went my whole playing career until the period I had my DSL401 (which the buyer is picking up on Monday) without reverb on my amp. My Marshall tube head doesn't have it (some purists say no Marshall amps should have reverb).. anyways.

I used it a lil on my combo while I had it, but I find that most rooms you're playing in give you that sound anyways, we're not a surf group. I would get a Holy Grail maybe if I was going to get a reverb pedal, but it's way down my list of wants.

get a pulsar then, and dont bother asking us next time you have already made your mind up.
