ohmygod.

It arrived like 20 minutes ago and I was shaking like a small child.

There it is. Awesome. All the knobs were turned up to 10. took me fucking ages to turn them all down.

Shit it comes with - BIGASS footpedal for footswitching between either presets (channel, mode, reverb on/off, FX loop on/off, Master Volume1/2) or for tying to one of he switches on the amp. it is factory programmed like this:

1. Clean
2. Crunch
3. OD1
4. OD2
5. Reverb on/off
6. Master1/2

One 1-4 the first stomp takes you to that channel (and the last mode you selected on it - with it remembering the reverb, fx and master settings for that mode) and subsequent stomps cycle through the modes for that channel. So ace!

Footswitch lead (can use regular guitar cable too, speaker cable, power lead, manuals and warranty shit

Only played for a brief time but all the channels and modes sound amazing and the reverb and switchable masters is wicked. ACE fucking amp. Expect in depth review and the start of the samples on the weekend.

This thing sounds AMAZING at low volumes, it's going to kick cranked up.

It seriously sounds like 3 JCM800s with varying states of hotrodding plus a gorgeous clean channel that has spanky, crumbly and KICKASS modes to it. Amazing amp.

The switching is lightning fast and without ducking or pops.

Literally the only thing that didn't strike me as amazing is that the plastic square switches on the amp aren't all seated perfectly square in the metal cut outs, they all move freely and fine and there's no problem with functionality - it must be that it's hard to orientate the daughterboards that support their circuitry perfectly square inside the chassis.

Everything else is ace, quality jacks and pots, everything has a firm, smooth responsive action and this thing just sounds kick ass.

Dammit Mike I want one now! If only!

Uh.. fuck yeah! It's HUGE. But any smaller and it wouldn't be possible to accurately stomp on a dark stage.

I think I'm going to drop the RAT2 and the OD-3 off the board (the JVM has their sounds more than covered in OD1/OD2 and The Clean/Crunch channels respectively. I'll keep them though, I love both pedals and they sound good through my PowerBlock (+ I need them if ever gigging with the 6100 to give me the light OD sounds I use a lot).

So I'll drop those pedals and I think the MDX may have to move upwards to accept the footswitch in the bottom right of my board. Have no fear, you know me - they'll be a photo thread about that shit.

I could get one of these and have access to 10 different channel/mode/master volume/reverb/fx presets. or like 8 presets and the ability to stomp the master volume or an empty FX loop for a boost...HAHAHAHA

It looks class. There's nothing as exciting as a new, big-ass amp arriving. I remember how loured I was when my AVT arrived.

Incidentally, the footswitch with the AVT150H looks to be about the same size. Once I get used to it, it wasn't a problem, although I seem to remember it sliding across a wet stage floor once, with me atop of it. Just don't let amateurish bands open for you and wreck the stage on you.

Cheers Paul, It'll be on my pedalboard (see below) which has study rubberfeet and is butted up against my mic stand base/monitor when we play live so hopefully I'll have to slideage issues, I can imagine the bare footswitch sliding like a bastard though!

the cool thing about the switch is the fact it uses a regular guitar lead despite all the functionality. no more tedious repairs or expensive replacement!

Yeah, basically you have 3 footswitchable master volumes on this amp. Any differences in volume between the modes of the channels can be leveled out if you want by assigning the FX loop or Master2 to be active with that preset should you desire. If you have a tuner with bad bypass that you want to be able to have out of the signal chain and tune silently with you just throw it in the FX loop send, add no return and set to 100% wet. Then use an FX loop patch as a tuner mute. Clever huh?

Is the footswitch shod with that sort of spongey crap that full and hair sticks too? The AVT one has big fuckin printer style lead, which I don't ever want to have to replace. My AVT works fine, by the way. It dried up nicely, and even has that beer-soaked tone to it now.

ftw. even amp techs who serviced my tsl weren't aware of that feature. "are you sure it's okay to do that?" um, yeah, i got the idea from the fuckin manual, douche. how would it be harmful to complete a circuit that's built to be completed?
